Children and Youth

With the increasing youth population in the Northern Hills communities, the NHCA is looking to expand our youth engagement efforts. Our first effort has been to start a youth forum (The Youth Council) where participants from grades 10-12 will be able to voice their concerns and ideas on how to improve the quality of life for all youth in our community.

Have you always wanted to start a community basketball league, or a kids’ play group? Do you have a unique idea for a child or youth program in the Northern Hills community? Along with The Youth Council, we are actively looking for people who are interested in helping expand the youth programs in the Northern Hills.

If you are interested in participating in our efforts please email us at: amanda.davis@northernhills.ab.ca
We look forward to hearing from you!

MOM AND TOTS

YOUTH WRITING PROGRAM

Our youth writing programs are lead by the Calgary children’s author Simon Rose, who has led workshops for the International Childrens’ Festival, the City of Calgary, and various community summer camps. He will lead your child through the creative world of writing and storytelling. Our youth writing programs are held twice a year. For information about our current youth writing program, please view the items on our home page or put “youth writing” in the search bar (located at the top right of each page).

All classes will be registered on a first come, first serve basis due to the popularity of the class and the limit of 20 places on the program.

If you have any questions about this or any other NHCA Youth program, please email: admin@northernhills.ab.ca
