SPRY – New Location, New Days, New Content

The NHCA’s popular program for older adults, SPRY in the Hills, moved over the summer to Vivo (formerly known as Cardel Place) for the 2015-2016 Fall-Winter season. In addition to the move, which now allows SPRY to grow, due to a larger room capacity, the programming content has also had a bit of a makeover. Don’t worry though – they will still be socialising and playing group games!

New location: Child Minding room, just inside the northwest entrance to Vivo.

New days: Fridays were not available in the new location, so SPRY now runs Tuesdays & Thursdays each week.
For times, see the SPRY page on this website (to locate it in the menu bar at the top of the page, select “Groups and Committees”, then select “SPRY in the Hills (Seniors)”)

seniorsexerciseNew content: In addition to new fitness classes (see below), Calgary Foothills Primary Care Network (CFPCN) has kindly agreed to present a different seniors-focused topic or interactive session on the third Tuesday of each month.

New fitness/exercise classes: Tracey, from Fit2Age is still taking seniors exercise classes on Thursdays, but on Tuesdays SPRY will be trying out new things for Fall-Winter 2015-2016. For 5 weeks in Oct-Nov, they will be trying out QiGong/TaiChi, followed by 5 weeks of seniors’ yoga.

For more information and the schedule, please visit the SPRY page on this website, or contact seniors@northernhills.ab.ca . The group’s schedule is also available in the September issue of the Northern Edge News.
