The overall success of any NHCA event or program depends upon our volunteers. We cannot do these programs without your help, unfortunately it takes a whole lot of help!
When registering in Children’s Outdoor Soccer, the $100 volunteer deposit will be automatically added to the cost of registering in this program. All families will be expected to volunteer in ANY NHCA program or event for a minimum of 5 hours per family. A full refund of this $100.00 volunteer deposit will be given to those who fulfill their volunteer commitment.
There are many volunteer positions and your contribution can be directly related to your child’s soccer team, the soccer program or other NHCA events throughout the year. To volunteer for a non-sports related event, please contact: firstname.lastname@example.org
1. Equipment/Uniform Helpers
Working with SoccerTech, you will help out with the creation of equipment bags, along with handing them and the uniforms out to the coaches. Also available at a later date will be the post-season task of counting and sorting of returned equipment.
8 volunteers needed:
- available 6:30-8:30 PM on BOTH nights – April 4th & 5th (Tue & Wed)
- able to lift/carry equipment bags and boxes
Unfortunately for this position you will not be able to bring your child(ren) as it will be very busy and the equipment room is not a suitably safe place for children with so many adults trying to work in there. There will be other volunteer positions available where you will be able to bring your child(ren) with you.

2. Community Clean Up Volunteers
We need volunteers on site at the Panorama e-centre to help with guiding traffic, helping to sign people in and out, monitoring disposal drop-offs, etc.
6 volunteers needed:
- available 8:00 AM – 2:30 PM on May 27
- able to help set up a tent and to stand / walk around for the whole shift
- able to help direct traffic
Unfortunately for these 6 positions you will not be able to bring your child(ren) as it will be very busy and there will be a lot of cars and vans driving around the event site (not safe to leave children unattended). However, if you would like to bring your kids with you: we encourage you sign up for the clean up itself – bring the whole family and help clean up our neighbourhoods! Treat it like a fun, family walk through the Northern Hills, with the added benefit of beautifying your community at the same time 🙂

AS REQUIRED – You will be contacted during the course of the year to assist with ANY NHCA event, program or project requiring volunteer assistance.
Board Member – Attend monthly board meetings and contribute to the overall functioning of the NHCA.
Coach/Co-Coach – Attend the coach orientation for an hour during the weekend of April 22/23 at the Calgary West Soccer Centre to get some professional tips and training from the experts at SoccerTech! This is one of the most demanding, but most fun and rewarding volunteer positions in kids’ soccer.
Equipment/Uniform Helpers – Working with SoccerTech, you will help out with the creation of equipment bags, along with handing them and the uniforms out to the coaches. Also available will be the post-season task of counting and sorting of returned equipment.
Photo Coordinator – Work with photographer to schedule teams for photos, and organise the photo helpers to volunteer on photo days.
Photo Helper – To assist the photography company on photo day.
Referee – Referee games in U12 & Youth (possibly U10) age groups; and/or adult soccer games, if you are an experienced referee. Contact: email@example.com
Team Managers – Assists the coach with team organization and helping out on photo night for your team. Ensures that volunteer responsibilities on the team are being carried out: snack night (for the appropriate age groups). The Team Manager is also responsible for keeping the equipment and for equipment setup for your team at games.
