Thanks to the hard work of our rinks volunteers, and our Community Enhancement Director, BOTH outdoor community pleasure rinks in Harvest Hills and Panorama Hills are now open! For locations, please visit our rinks page: www.northernhills.ab.ca/community-pleasure-rinks/

Please enjoy responsibly:

  • Please dress appropriately – it can get colder than you might think out there on the rink!
  • These rinks are not boarded and therefore not suitable for hockey.
  • Please be courteous to the neighbours who live around the rinks – don’t block their driveways if parking at the rink; please don’t play hockey as loose pucks can damage their fence/property.
  • If you see a volunteer clearing the ice, please wave or say hi and thank you! It is only due to these dedicated community volunteers (your neighbours) that we can provide these rinks for everyone.
  • Beware of “bumpy bits”! Outdoor ice surfaces can get a bit rough sometimes – we don’t have or use a Zamboni…
  • Most of all, please just have fun!

We can always use more rink volunteers (for example to help clear snow from the ice, help maintain the surface, or re-flood after Chinooks) so if you would be interested, please contact Brice at: community@northernhills.ab.ca
